Below are some frequently asked questions and answers that relate to personal clients. If you have a particular question that we have not listed below, please feel free to contact us with your enquiry.


What are your services?

Who do you work with?
I focus on working with those who have endocrine related health challenges, wellbeing issues related to stress and busyness and those struggling to make change.  For endocrine health think thyroid, insulin resistance, type 2 diabetes, cholesterol, arthritis, fibromyalgia, hormonal and digestive (GUT) issues.  I also work with men & women on preconception care.
Do I get a Health Fund Rebate?
Many of the Health Fund Providers offer rebates for dietary and nutrition advice.  Jan McLeod is registered with NIB, HBF, Medibank, CBHS, Australian Unity, AHM, Teacher’s Union Health and GU Health. To confirm you have appropriate cover and are eligible to claim a rebate please consult your Health Fund Provider.
What is the consult process?

We have a 3 step process we call ACE.

  3. Enable

Step 1:  Assess your health and wellness

 

Before your first appointment, you will:

  1. Complete an online confidential pre-consult questionnaire (approx. 20 minutes).
  2. Complete a 5-7 food/healthy diary.
  • At your first appointment we:
  1. Clarify areas of your health and wellness that are of concern to you.
  2. Confirm your goals, your initial goals, as well as longer term goals.
  3. Understand health strategies and habits working well for you.
  4. Identify obstacles and challenges preventing you from achieving your wellness goals.
  5. Where relevant provide tests results related to areas of your health which are of concern.
  • Our aim is to understand your integrated health and wellness picture.

Step 2: Create your tailored plan

  • In your second appointment you are presented with your tailored plan.
  • We confirm goals, recommendations in context of an overall road map.
  • You will understand your action plan and the key next steps to get started.
  • Our aim is to create a plan and enabling roadmap you can realistically integrate into your plan.

Step 3: Enable your health journey

  • In these sessions we track, review and monitor your progress.
  • As required we refine and as required evolve your plan so it remains targeted and effective.
  • You receive guidance, support and education needed to achieve sustainable change.

What are the Program Fees?

What do client workshops cost?
These vary based on content and length.  Click here for further detail.
How can I pay?
We accept credit cards, MasterCard and Visa as well as cash payments.  We also accept electronic fund transfer however transfer of monies needs to be made 24hrs prior to the appointment.
What if I miss/cancel an appointment?
Due to the difficulty of filling last-minute cancellations, we respectfully request 48hours notice if you are unable to attend an appointment.  Appointments changed or cancelled within this time period will incur as a minimum a $50 administration fee.
How do I prepare for appointment?
You will be sent a confirmation email with instructions.  It will explain the preparation steps, provide a link to the pre-consult questionnaire and templates to complete if relevant.
Is my information kept private?
We maintain strict confidentiality and privacy policies with respect to all patients. Files are stored securely and only your consulting practitioner can access your file. If you require access to tests results or treatment queries please contact us directly.
Do you diagnose medical conditions?
No, we are accredited and registered nutritionists; we do not diagnose medical conditions. If you require a medical diagnosis please consult your local General Medical Practitioner.
Do you prescribe supplements?
Yes, we may consider that supplements together with eating plan and lifestyle options are appropriate. As with the dietary and lifestyle changes, any recommendations will be specific to your needs and circumstances.
Do you use pathology testing?
Yes, we may consider the use of functional pathology tests for some clients.  If we consider this appropriate we will discuss this with you face to face.

Can I make contact after hours?
Call the number shown on our website and leave a message.  If the call is urgent, please clearly state this in your message.  We will seek to return urgent calls as soon as we can.  Other calls will be returned during business hours, we are to get back to you within 48hrs.
